Electrolysis is the intelligent choice before you ever tweeze or after temporary methods have made hair heavier or did not fulfill your expectations. Electrolysis results are progressive and predictable during the course of treatment.
Whether you just want to have a cleaner appearance, or have unwanted hair due to hormone changes/conditions such as menopause or PCOS, thyroid problems or stress related hair growth, we can help you. Our clients are women, men, in transition, and teens. Most everyone has some hair they can do without. Those who need post-laser follow up are welcome, too.
Not many people know that Electrolysis has been in use for permanent hair removal since 1875.
Due to a lack of information, many people have used temporary methods such as tweezing, waxing, sanding, lasering, or shaving. Tweezing and waxing have been shown to actually increase the coarseness and density of hair growth. Laser hair removal has shown inconsistent results and cannot treat all the colors, types and stages of hair that Electrolysis can.
Electrolysis works by treating each individual hair and follicle. The target of destruction is the hair papilla. The papilla provides blood flow for hair and follicle growth. That is where our current is directed. Be patient. It takes awhile to treat all the hair and hair cycles. It is easiest to treat hair that has never been tweezed or waxed, but Electrolysis will successfully eliminate your unwanted hair regardless of what you have used in the past.
Before you come in let the facial or body hair grow a bit - 1/8-1/4" will do. If your hair is in a mole or birthmark, or if you have certain implanted devices we will need your Dr.'s ok before beginning. Otherwise, after we answer your questions and tell you more about the process we can begin. The length of an appointment and the time between appointments is determined by each individual client's needs, growth rate and tolerance. As the hair goes away you will have fewer and shorter treatments until there is no more to do.

Did you know?
The hair you see is not all the hair you have. Hair grows in cycles. That's why it takes more than one appointment to permanently clear an area.

If your electrologist can't see the hairs, they can't zap the hairs. Plucking, waxing, threading, or tweezing before your hair removal appointment reduces the number of hairs your electrologist can remove.
For a more comfortable treatment, avoid caffeine for a few hours before your appointment.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Drinking plenty of water helps unwanted hair slide right out.
Talk to your electrologist about any questions or concerns. We want your experience to be as comfortable and effective as possible.

Gently exfoliating your skin before your treatment opens up the follicles and lets the unwanted hair slide out more easily.
Clean skin releases unwanted hair more easily. Remove your makeup before your appointment, so the hair follicles are clean and accessible.
